and it also means pumpkin spice crap everywhere.
Seriously. Who needs pumpkin spice Cheerios? Or Pop Tarts?
And the beloved PSL from Starbucks contains over 50 grams of sugar, which is crazy.
But there’s nothing wrong with enjoying this seasonal flavor…
you just have to do it right!
So I came up with my own happy, healthy and hot version of a pumpkin spice latte. Not only does it taste amazing, it can give you pretty skin, nails and hair, more energy, and a better body. Win-win!
Here’s what I used:
🎃 Coffee, of course! Use organic whenever possible, as coffee is a highly sprayed crop. Coffee is actually a good source of antioxidants. I love coffee, but used to look at it as a bad habit. As long as you’re not over doing it, no reason to feel guilty!
🎃 A healthy fat, like Kerrygold unsalted butter or coconut oil. When blended on high with coffee, this gives a wonderful creamy taste. Healthy fats like these keep your energy level steady and help you absorb the nutrients from your food.
🎃 Further Food Collagen Peptides are pretty much the best thing ever! I blend collagen peptides into my coffee every morning. They are a great source of specific amino acids that can give you firmer skin, stronger nails and hair, and a great body. What’s not to like?! 🎃 Bulletproof Brain Octane Oil is optional, but is another healthy fat that really helps with energy and focus. It is derived from coconuts.
🎃 Pumpkin pie spice mix is what gives that distinctive pumpkin spice flavor. I made my own blend, shown below, so I could use organic spices. Spices are a powerful source of antioxidants that are often overlooked. But don’t make yourself crazy…if you have some pumpkin pie spice in your pantry, go ahead and use it!
🎃 Stevia is my sweetener of choice here. I use a liquid vanilla stevia extract, but feel free to use whatever you have. I don’t like to give a measurement here, since formulas vary. I have been making things less and less sweet these days…the less I taste sweets the less I crave them!
For non perishable healthy items, like the coconut oil and organic spices, I love Thrive Market. It’s a membership club where everything is 25-50% off, and you can take an additional 25% off your first order when you go through my link.

Hell yeah is right! Isn’t that gross, how much sugar in any sweet Starbucks drink? I used to drink the PSL there, but there was a point where the sweetness got to me, even before I went full-on primal. Thanks for the spice blend; I just used the rest of mine up on a loaf of apple spice bread, but I hate buying specialty blends of spices. I made my own curry powder last week so this one should be really simple. I’m making this tomorrow morning for sure.

I know what you mean about the sweetness. It’s overpowering, but people drink that stuff every day! Let me know how you like this! And I’d love to hear about your curry powder!
