No, not me!
The tip I’m about to share is cheap and easy.
Seriously, this is so easy you have no excuse.
1️⃣ go to the store
2️⃣ buy a big bag of whole, organic carrots
3️⃣ eat one every day
And why should you be doing this?
Carrots, even organic ones, are cheap and readily available at any grocery store.
And it doesn’t get any easier than reaching into the fridge, pulling one out of the bag, rinsing and eating.
Plus they taste good. The whole, organic carrots honestly taste way better than those little “baby” carrots. Which aren’t even babies.
Carrots are a great source of antioxidants. Most people know they are high in beta- carotene, which our bodies convert to vitamin A, but carrots contain many other antioxidants as well. Studies have shown that consuming carrots can help to reduce risk of cardiovascular disease and may offer some protection against colon cancer.
And here’s a fun fact about carrots…they can truly give your skin a glow.
A study at the University of Nottingham showed that people who consumed a lot of carotenoids had a more golden color to their skin. Beta-carotene is also known to protect skin from the sun, and one study even showed it to help improve wrinkles and photo-aging.
Like all veggies, carrots are high in fiber. Adding veggies to your diet, especially in place of processed carbs, can help you maintain a healthy weight.
So boom, there you have it…glowing skin and a hot body. Win-win. But it gets better.
Something even more amazing about carrots…they are said to help balance hormones in both men and women.
This has something to do with the specific fiber in carrots, which is why you need to eat them raw and unpeeled.
I have not read any studies to support this, but I’m going to tell you what I have noticed personally.
(For my male readers I’m pretty sure this will be TMI. Just skip the next few paragraphs. But eat those carrots!)
Around the age of 45, I noticed my monthly cycle becoming shorter. It had been like clockwork, exactly 28 days, for years. Suddenly it was 22, then 26, then 24. Unpredictable and totally annoying.
I ignored it for awhile, and eventually tried an herbal supplement that is effective for some people in this situation but did nothing for me.
Then I read about the carrot thing. I had nothing to lose. I’ve always liked carrots, they’re just not something I bought regularly at the time.
I started eating one raw, unpeeled carrot every day. Sometimes two, since I started to really like them. My periods started stretching out a little bit. More like 26 or 27 days.
This didn’t happen overnight. It happened gradually, over the course of almost a year.
I am 51 now and have a very regular 28 day cycle.
Now this is just anecdotal. I’m not aware of any research to support this, and I’m not saying it will work for everyone. But it sure as hell worked for me! And since carrots are good for so many things, no reason not to give it a try.
So, can eating a raw carrot every day help you feel happy, healthy and hot? It sure works for me!
You’ll be happy enjoying such a quick and easy snack. Carrots do so many things to keep you healthy, including improving skin and helping maintain a healthy weight. Plus the hormone balancing thing can really improve your mood! And a happy girl with glowing skin and a nice body is always hot!
