I was browsing Etsy and saw that on a shirt, and thought “Yeah, that pretty much sums me up.”
So here are some updates on those two topics so near and dear to my heart.
If you’ve been following happy, healthy and hot for awhile, you know I enjoy my am coffee blended with coconut oil, Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides, and NuNaturals Vanilla Liquid Stevia. I love how the Vitamix makes it so creamy and frothy! And many times there is something else blended in, like turmeric or raw cacao powder, just to mix things up a bit.
The coconut oil is a healthy fat that keeps my metabolism buzzing, and the collagen peptides keep my skin firm and my nails growing like crazy.
So here’s my coffee update…I’ve been trying to cut back on sweeteners, including my liquid stevia.
Not that it’s a bad thing, but I do feel that having something sweet in the morning may increase my cravings for sweets later in the day. Also, I’ve been thinking of doing a Whole 30 again soon, and if that’s the case I will be giving up sweeteners anyway.
So guess what I’ve been throwing in my coffee in the am (along with the coconut oil and collagen peptides)?
Cinnamon! It adds a nice hint of sweetness without any added sugar, and it’s getting me in the mood for fall. Cinnamon helps with blood sugar regulation and improves insulin sensitivity. Like all spices, it’s loaded with antioxidants.
But just as important as all those benefits, it tastes great! Because the foods that help us look and feel amazing should also taste great. Am I right?
I make sure to buy organic cinnamon. For more on spices in general, and why they should be organic, check out this post:
Let’s spice things up
Now, on to mascara! I had tried the 100% Pure Maracuja Mascara in Black Tea, and really liked the dark, intense color. But I was hearing great things about their other formula, Fruit Pigmented Ultra Lengthening, so of course I had to try it.
All I can say is….DAMN! Seriously LOVE this stuff.
I bought the color blackberry to try something different. It reads as a soft black even though it looks purple in the pic on the website and in the tube. I like the color but will probably go with black tea next time for even darker lashes.
Here is what I love about it: It smells amazing…fruity, but not overpowering. It has buildable coverage. One coat will give you a soft, natural look. But you can continue to build it (as I do) for longer, more dramatic lashes. Even with multiple coats (like 3!) my lashes stay really soft.
The Fruit Pigmented Ultra Lash Lengthening Mascara stays on my lashes all day with no smudging. And comes off easily when I cleanse with coconut oil at night.
Of course, I also love the fact that this mascara has the purest, safest of ingredients. And the convenience of free shipping and returns with no minimum purchase.
And just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, right now 100% Pure is offering a free Pomegranate Lipstick when you buy any mascara. This is an amazing deal, since the lipstick is regularly $29…let me know if you try it! Total win-win!
In the interest of full disclosure, there are some days that call for a true waterproof mascara formula, and in that case I usually turn to Cannonball by Urban Decay. This is definitely not a natural line, but it has a good score from the Environmental Working Group.
So, can some cinnamon in your coffee and a new mascara help you feel and happy, healthy and hot? Of course it can!
I’m always happy with a good cup of coffee, and love getting packages in the mail from 100% Pure. The coconut oil, collagen and cinnamon in the coffee all support your health on so many levels, and the mascara is completely free of the toxins found in most conventional makeup. And my crazy blended coffee drink also supports weight maintenance, firm skin, and healthy hair and nails. And that’s very hot!

Oh, cinnamon coffee and mascara sounds great to me! I love cinnamon, especially in the autumn. I do often put vanilla in my bulletproof coffee too which is really nice.
Not quite cinnamon coffee or mascara, but I went shopping for a whole load of boring chores and came back with a free red lipstick (matched to my skin tone and cruelty free) and some dark chocolate covered coconut chips.

Would dark chocolate covered coconut chips sound amazing! I was just snacking on coconut chips yesterday…they would have been even better covered in dark chocolate. Of course, everything is better with chocolate! And it doesn’t get much better than a free cruelty free lipstick. Sounds like a great way to perk up those boring errands!
