Depending on how many of these posts you’ve actually read, you might know that I had really bad cystic acne most of my life. Not fun. After trying every prescription under the sun, including three rounds of Accutane, it finally cleared up for good when I stopped eating grains and dairy. (See the post: I used to have terrible skin) And then got even better as I added some crazy stuff to my diet.(I used to have terrible skin (part 2))
But there was one thing that still bugged me (almost as much as when every single radio station was playing that Adele song all day long, which drove me out of my mind) and that was…
my pores!!! The pores on and around my nose stayed large and always seemed a little clogged. Clay masks helped a bit but not completely, and I didn’t always take the time to use them.
I was browsing the Annmarie Gianni skincare website recently (when I should have been doing something more productive, like starting dinner or folding the giant pile of laundry on top of my dryer) when I noticed the Rosemary Toner. Rosemary is known to be good for problem skin. It is anti-microbial, purifying, and stimulates healthy circulation, plus I happen to really love the way it smells. So I ordered some. Rosemary has also been used for hundreds of years to promote healthy hair. You can also spray the toner on your scalp and massage it in for a few minutes. Haven’t tried that yet, but I will!
The other product I added to my routine is the Ayurvedic Facial Scrub, described as an “exotic blend of Indian herbs, Morrocan rhassoul clay and traditional herbal treatments.” You mix it with your cleanser a few times a week when you wash your face. It’s a dry powder that smells incredible and gives a very gentle exfoliation.
If you’ve read many of my posts, you already know that I am pretty obsessed with the Annmarie Gianni skin care line. Not only have the products been extremely effective for me, they are made from the purest ingredients possible. We are talking organic oils and wild crafted herbs. Maybe this all sounds a little hippie dippy, but it has been working great for me. And I have tried a number high end skin care lines, including Perricone and many department store brands, most of which have a million ingredients that you can’t even pronounce.
Here’s what I’ve been doing…I still oil cleanse with coconut oil at night. Love, love, love!! When I shower in the morning, I put two or three squirts of the Aloe-Herb Cleanser in the palm of my hand, and add a pinch of the Ayurvedic Facial Scrub. I use this all over my face and neck, gently rubbing for about a minute, and rinse off. When I get out of the shower I spray my face with the Rosemary toner, and then apply my beloved Anti-Aging Serum. Everything smells amazing and feels even better.
All I can say is wow…major difference in those pores around my nose. As in, almost invisible. And you’ve already heard me totally rave about the Anti-aging serum. This may sound like a lot of steps to take, but I’ve really seen results.
If you haven’t tried any of the Annmarie Gianni skincare products, their sample kids are great. They cost $10, you get free shipping anywhere in the world, and a coupon good for $10 off your next order. It’s a win-win. Just use this link to learn more about the company and order your sample kit.
And if you’ve already tried some of the products, and want to order the toner, scrub or anything else, you can go through that same link. Just scroll all the way to the bottom and click on “shop.”
My apologies to the Adele fans out there. I like her too, but got pretty aggravated when the only thing I heard every time I turned on the radio was “Hello.” I prefer stuff that’s a little more upbeat!
