What I’m reading

ThanksI love to read.  At any given time I usually have a few books going.  Kindle is fine when I’m traveling, but there is something comforting about the feel of a book in my hand.  And while fiction can be fun (Twilight, Hunger Games, 50 shades…), I find myself reading a lot of nonfiction.  The books that I feel are the best of the best will be in my Amazon store. (Found in “Things I love” on menu.)

A current favorite is Goddesses Never Age, by Christiane Northrup.  If you don’t know who she is, you should!  Christiane is a holistic ob/gyn who is well versed in all areas of women’s health.  More importantly, she is a complete bad ass.  I watched a recorded lecture she gave and loved her!  I rarely buy a book the day it comes out, but I couldn’t wait an extra minute for this one. I was not disappointed.  In fact, it was so inspirational that I am reading it for a second time.  How often does that happen?

Here’s what I love about the book…she challenges everything we have been programmed to believe about aging.  Christiane shifts our perceptions, because she believes that we deserve and are entitled to vibrant health at any age.  There’s a lot of mind/body stuff in this book, but also concrete, practical health advice.  It’s a thick book, and one you will find yourself coming back to for both information and inspiration.  To give you an idea, some of the chapters include “Goddesses Understand the Causes of Health,” “Goddesses are Sexy and Sensual,” “Goddesses Savor the Pleasure of Food,” “Goddesses Move Joyously,” and “Goddesses are Gorgeous.”

This book is all about enjoying life, feeling great and looking amazing.  Or, as I like to say…happy, healthy, and hot!
