In honor of National Chocolate Day, here are my top five reasons to eat more chocolate. Not that you needed a reason.
Dark chocolate is loaded with antioxidants and polyphenols that help to reduce inflammation. Whenever you hear antioxidant, just think anti aging.
Eating chocolate increases levels of the neurotransmitter serotonin throughout your body. This can improve mood and sleep. I’ll take it!
Chocolate contains theobromine, a mild stimulant that has a much gentler effect than caffeine. It supports a calm focus without any of the jittery feeling that caffeine can sometimes bring on.
Dark chocolate has been linked to skin health…cocoa high in polyphenols was shown to improve skin thickness and moisture in one study.
And the last reason, which I think is just as important as the others…chocolate tastes pretty amazing!
Of course, you need to be consuming high quality chocolate.
Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered!
I’ve put together a new section in my Amazon store with my happy healthy and hot chocolate faves. Here’s a link:

How are you celebrating National Chocolate Day?

hi elizabeth,
My name is Jack SmithHeisler. Doesn’t look like your website is really set up for men. 🙂 but I ran across you on Mark’s Daily Apple. I was a raw foodist, really a fruitarian, for many years. I think the high amount of sugar, even though it was from fruit, finally took it’s toll.
Anyway your story was inspiring to me.

Hi Jack, I just saw your comment from over a year ago…somehow I missed it when my website was being updated. You’re right my website is more geared towards women but I have male followers also. I’m with you…too much fruit can be problematic for sure…my body can only handle so much sugar. I post a lot of what I am eating on Instagram @happyhealthyandhot_elizabeth
