Take the stairs.
Boom! Drop the mic.
This is a cheap and easy tip that can make a big difference.
Now if you are thrilled with how your ass looks right now, no need to read any further.
But if you’re thinking you’d like to tone up a bit with summer coming, here’s what I have been doing lately:
Every morning (Monday thru Friday…weekends I take a break) I’ve been climbing the stairs for 10 minutes. The stairs in my house. Or the hotel stairs if I am traveling.
That’s what I love about this. You can do it anywhere. At home I do it in my PJ’s before I hop in the shower. If I’m away I try to make myself a little more presentable first, which means putting on shoes and a bra.
Why 10 minutes? Because it’s long enough to feel it, but short enough that there’s no excuse not to fit it in.
Depending on my mood, I’ll listen to a podcast or some music. Loving “It Ain’t Me” by Kygo + Selena Gomez, and “Cake” by Flo Rida. I pretty much love everything by Flo Rida.
In the few weeks that I have been doing this, I already feel a difference in my butt and legs. Which is good since bikini weather is right around the corner!
If you don’t want to knock out 10 minutes on the stairs first thing in the am, look for ways to incorporate more stair climbing into your day. When you’re just going up a few floors, many times stairs are faster than waiting for an elevator. If you’ll be sitting for awhile, set an alarm or timer on the phone, and take a quick stair climbing break.
If you want to step things up a bit (pun intended) you could add in some squats. I personally love doing them on the bosu ball. Here’s a video I posted on Instagram awhile back where KO makes a cameo appearance:

Now remember, what you are putting into your body is even more important than your workout. Many health and fitness experts believe that 80% of body composition depends on what you are eating. So to see real results, kick the sugar and processed carbs to the curb. Focus on lots of non starchy veggies, high quality protein and healthy fats. I have noticed firmer skin all over my body since I began consuming collagen several years ago.
Can taking the stairs help you feel happy, healthy and hot? Damn straight it can.
You will be happy that something so easy can help you get in shape, and if you combine it with healthy eating it will be even more effective. And feeling confident rocking your new summer clothes is very hot!
