THREE WORDS THAT ARE KEEPING YOU SMALL
Words are powerful. This inspiration came to me in the middle of the night, and I actually jotted it down so I wouldn’t forget. These are three words that are keeping you small.
Are you ready for the three words?
- Try
- Just
- Realistic
Now you may wonder how such common words could be keeping us small. Let me explain…
Let’s start with “Try”.
“Try” gives you an option not to do the thing.
For example “I’ll try to get up earlier so I have time to journal and meditate” means you’re probably not going to do it. Or it happens once or twice and falls by the wayside or that you” find an excuse not to do it because you are not setting it as a priority in your mind!
“I am GOING TO set my alarm for one half hour earlier every day so I can have some quiet reflective time and fill myself up before the day begins” is so much more powerful.
The word “Just” weakens everything.
For example, “I just need a minute of your time” or “I’m just a …(soccer mom, college student, whatever) who am I to want more?” Saying “just” makes it sound like you don’t want to ask for much. Stop that shit!
And lastly, my least favorite word…”realistic.”
You probably already know how I feel about this one. I don’t do realistic. And you don’t need to either.
Stop thinking and worrying about what other people tell you is realistic and start thinking about the life you REALLY desire. Dream big. Because why not create a life that you are head over heels in love with? A life beyond your wildest dreams.
You don’t need to know exactly how you’re going to get there.
Take the first step in faith. Take inspired, messy action and the next step will show up for you.
