it makes everyone happy. Seriously, who isn’t loving that song this summer?!
This dressing is primal, paleo, gluten free, dairy free, vegan...it covers all the bases. And it tastes great.
The recipe goes back to my vegan days, although I’ve continued to tweak it and it keeps getting better:
Here’s what I use:
Avocado oil gives the dressing a rich flavor, and contributes healthy fats that are awesome for your skin and give your metabolism a nice boost. I love the avocado oil from Primal Kitchen.
Raw Apple Cider Vinegar contributes a zesty flavor and is actually a source of probiotics. ACV is pretty magical stuff. The probiotics are great for your digestion, which in turn helps your skin. It can help support blood sugar control and even weight loss. For more on ACV, read this post…it’s one of my faves: DNCE and ACV. Who else do you know who can talk about ACV and Joe Jonas at the same time?!
Tahini, made from ground sesame seeds, provides a rich nutty flavor. It’s also a great source of calcium and many minerals.
Nutritional yeast is one of the more unusual ingredients, but it’s available in most better grocery stores these days. It’s an inactive form of yeast that contributes a nice taste and lots of B vitamins.
Coconut aminos add a savory flavor. Use soy sauce if that’s all you have…don’t want you to miss out on this stuff!
Cayenne pepper adds a little kick…I’m always trying to spice things up! It can also help digestion and boost metabolism.
Freshly cracked black pepper adds a little heat as well.
Pink Himalayan Salt may or may not be necessary…taste the dressing first and see. Whenever I need salt, this is what I use since it provides a wide array of trace minerals. And it’s pink.
This dressing tastes great on pretty much everything. I love it on romaine lettuce with some diced red pepper and carrots. Throw on some leftover chicken or salmon and it’s a meal. It also makes a great dip for any raw veggies.
happy, healthy and hot tahini dressing
one cup avocado oil
one third cup tahini
one third cup raw apple cider vinegar
one third cup coconut or soy aminos
one third cup nutritional yeast
pink Himalayan salt, freshly cracked black pepper and cayenne pepper to taste
Dump everything in the blender. Blend on low speed until combined. These ingredients are all stable at room temperature. I have had no problem leaving this stuff out for a few days, since I usually go through it quickly. But I’m sure any food safety expert would tell you to put it in the fridge. So that’s what I’m officially telling you to do.
Like all of my recipes, this is really flexible. If you want it a little thinner add more oil. Extra vinegar can overpower the other flavors. You could totally add fresh garlic if you’re into that.
So, can this salad dressing help you feel happy, healthy and hot? Of course it can…that’s why we’re all here, right?
You’ll feel happy with a dressing that makes everything taste better. It is made with healthy ingredients like avocado oil and raw apple cider vinegar, which support glowing skin and a fit body. And a happy girl with a gorgeous body and beautiful skin is always hot!
