I’m hearing something about the top hits of 2016. And many of them were mentioned in my posts, like Cake by the Ocean, Pillow Talk, Can’t Stop the Feeling, and Closer. Oh, and pretty much everything by Justin Bieber. He had a good year!
But let’s talk about something even more fun… the top hits on happy, healthy and hot!
It’s cool to look back and see which posts were the most popular, since it gives me an idea of what you are looking for. So here are the top 5….
The number five spot goes to More tight shorts, which was a follow up to an earlier post. In this post I gave quick tips that have worked for me to maintain my weight in a healthy way. Some of those tips included blending a green drink in the am, cutting down on starchy carbs, and consuming collagen, since it has been shown to maintain satiety better than other forms of protein when consumed in the morning.
I’ve been showing more skin… was number four. Summer means shorts, tanks and even bikinis, so I shared and my tips for having firm, glowing skin all over your body. This starts on the inside (check out the number one post, below), but can be supported on the outside with dry brushing and moisturizing oils.
Number three, My shorts are too tight, was the first post where I talked about weight loss…specifically what I did when my favorite black Abercrombie shorts were a little snug. This came about mostly due to mindless snacking, even if it was on healthy stuff. So the first thing I did was grab a cute journal (I ❤️ cute journals!) and start keeping track of what I was eating. If you’ve been following me for awhile, you know that counting calories does not make me feel happy, healthy and hot. But tracking what I was eating, and when, made me more aware of where I needed to make some changes.
DNCE and ACV was number two, which totally surprised me. I didn’t know people would be so interested in the benefits of raw apple cider vinegar. Tying it in with that cutie Joe Jonas probably helped. But ACV is pretty amazing stuff…I have always poured a splash in water if I feel a sore throat coming on, but it turns out it can also prevent indigestion, stabilize blood sugar, improve the lipid profile of your blood, and promote weight loss.
The number one post on happy, healthy and hot in 2016 was People always ask me… This is the post where I break down what I eat for healthy, glowing skin. I cleared my skin of chronic cystic acne by cutting out grains and dairy, and then gradually discovered which foods made my skin get even better.
Some of those foods include sardines (I know, I know, they are gross!), fresh greens every single day, healthy fats like coconut oil, pastured egg yolks and avocado, and fresh lemons. Collagen has also made an amazing difference in my skin…it is firmer now, at age 50, than it was at 40. I love blending collagen peptides and coconut oil into my coffee in the am.
I’m thrilled that this was the most popular post, because it’s pretty much what happy, healthy and hot is all about. I want you to look and feel amazing, and that has to start on the inside.
The same foods that are great for your skin are pretty much great for everything. As I said in that post: “Oh, and some possible side effects from eating this way are more energy, a better mood, clearer thinking, and maybe a little weight loss. Hopefully you’re cool with that.”
Another post that was really popular, and keeps getting views, is Whiter teeth without grief , where I explained how I keep my teeth white by oil pulling with coconut oil and brushing with activated charcoal. I’ve been doing this for years (I’m way more consistent with the charcoal than the oil pulling) and you can see from my candid, unfiltered pics that this totally works.
So thank you for reading, following me on Instagram (@resnickelizabeth), and sharing with your friends. I love the community that happy, healthy and hot is becoming! And of course, I always like to end with a question…
Can following happy, healthy and hot help you truly feel happy, healthy and hot? Absolutely!
You will feel happy being entertained by my posts and silly pictures. Everything that I talk about is meant to help you feel healthy on the inside and out. And when you are putting the best food into your body, and taking the best care of yourself on the outside, you will look and feel amazing. And that is totally hot!

What a great round up. This time a year ago, I was slightly overweight, out of shape and had a chest infection for 2 weeks. This year, I’m much fitter and healthier, I don’t think my clothes are particularly tighter this holiday and I’ve kept up lots of good habits. I’m trying to only eat mindfully, tricky this time of year, with loads of treats!
Thank you for some of your great reminders, dry brushing, green drinks (I’m getting back to these), the collagen is fab, we love your southwestern chicken too. I’ve really enjoyed your blog. Happy New Year.

Wow, Tanya, you have had a great year…I am so happy for you!! Love that you are fitter and healthier than a year ago. And I agree this time of year is tricky…I’ve definitely been looser with the treats lately. You had a great year, but I predict 2017 is going to be even better!
