especially the totes. I always convince myself that I need two new bras, or a ridiculous amount of underwear.
So of course I had to have this year’s Black Friday tote. (Don’t worry, I never left the house…that’s the beauty of online shopping.)
It’s a great bag…black nylon and a little more sophisticated than the pink sequined one from last year. (Although I love that too.)
It’s also coming in handy, since I’ve had lots of short trips lately. So let me tell you about some of my other travel companions…
If you’ve been following happy, healthy and hot for more than a few days, you already know I’m crazy for collagen peptides. They’ve improved my skin from the inside out. They are also amazing for your nails and hair.
These new stick packs of collagen peptides from Vital Proteins are perfect for travel. Just throw a few in your overnight bag and stir into your morning coffee or tea.
I’m also loving the new flavors of bars from Primal Kitchen Foods, for travel and to keep in my purse in case I am suddenly starving. Not only do they taste great, they have 15 grams of protein (from collagen!) and only 3 grams of sugar.
I’ve already told you about the Dark Chocolate Almond bars and the Coconut Cashew, in these two posts:
I feel a little naughty….
Free chocolate!
The new flavors are Chocolate Hazelnut and Sea Salt Macadamia. All four flavors are amazing. If I had to pick a fave, it would be the Sea Salt Macadamia. I have always loved combos of salty and sweet, and macadamias are my favorite nuts.
I do want to caution you…the bars can be a little sticky. Watch that you don’t get the chocolate ones stuck on your teeth. Never a good look.
As far as my toiletries go, I was so happy when I saw that 100% Pure offers most of their shampoos and conditioners in travel sizes. I am crazy for the Honey and Virgin Coconut, which smells amazing and makes my hair so soft.
I love to pack products that multitask, so I always throw my Alpine Pure Oil from Telluride Glow in my bag. The regular size bottle is two ounces, so you can even take it in your carry-on if you’re flying. And you can do anything with this product…it’s a great facial moisturizer, but you can use it to oil cleanse, take care of your cuticles, and I love to rub a tiny bit into the ends of my hair to get rid of fly aways and make it shine.
Oh, and save those cute little jelly jars from the hotel breakfast…they are awesome for packing up tiny amounts of things like coconut oil. Just make sure you screw the lids on tightly. And maybe don’t do the coconut oil thing in the summer when it’s all runny. Speaking from experience here.
While I’m traveling I love to catch up on some reading. I’ve been paging through the new Eat Fat, Get Thin Cookbook by Mark Hyman MD, and can’t wait to try some of the recipes! The way Dr. Hyman suggests eating is pretty much the way I eat on a day to day basis…it totally works.
So there you have it…some of my favorite travel products!
Can you stay happy, healthy and hot with a crazy travel schedule? Absolutely!
You’ll be happy enjoying some of the comforts of home while you are on the road. Everything I have mentioned helps you stay healthy. And with your soft, fragrant hair from the shampoo and conditioner, and firm and glowing skin from all the collagen and the Alpine Pure Oil, you’ll certainly be hot!
Thanks for reading…I’d love to hear some of your travel tips!

Great tips, Elizabeth. I like a freebie too.
Just to let you know I posted a comment on your post about technology, but it disappeared. I will see if it works this time.

Oh wow, Tanya, thanks for letting me know. No idea why it disappeared. I always have to approve a comment the first time someone leaves one, but after that it should post automatically. And love freebies!!!

I travel with coconut oil in a little screwtop jar. I then slip it into a snack size zip seal baggie before I put it in my travel toilet kit. That way, I won’t find coconut oil all over my bag! (also learned from experience). It seems that no matter how tightly I seal it, the altitude makes the seal pop and it leaks. Not a good thing in summer months.
Wow, a macadamia sea salt bar! I hadn’t even seen that one yet! I just put the chocolate hazelnut bar on my list at Thrive. Thanks for the great recommendations. I certainly trust your judgment. I’ve tried a number of things you’ve recommended that are fantastic. This has not always been the case with other bloggers’ recommendations…

So funny that we can’t leave home without our coconut oil, Primal Plum! The ziploc is a great idea. So glad you like my recommendations. I enjoy trying new things, and only pass on the ones I love. And the macadamia sea salt is sooooo good if you like that salty sweet combo.
