Dry, flaky skin is never fun. Especially in the summer, when we want to wear our cute tanks and shorts.
I’ve solved this dilemma by using a dry brush before I hop into the shower, and slathering myself with either plain coconut oil or Annmarie Gianni’s Coconut Body Oil as soon as I get out. Both of these oils absorb nicely and feel amazing.
But every now and then I want to change things up a bit, and add a little shimmer
with Burt’s Bees Radiance Body Lotion.
This will not give you a sparkly, disco queen look (not that there is anything wrong with that…it all depends on your agenda!)
I am thinking more SI Swimsuit Issue or Victoria’s Secret model shimmer…a subtle, beachy shimmer. Like you are so healthy and gorgeous you are just glowing. In fact, Lauren told me that this was used on her legs in a recent photo shoot. So Radiance Body Lotion is used by professional makeup artists, not just health bloggers who are into boy bands.
The shimmer comes from mica, a light-reflecting mineral. The other main ingredients are pretty good, although there are some questionable ones further down the list…like sodium borate, phenoxyethanol and sodium benzoate. That’s why this is not my everyday lotion.
A few comments…the consistency of this lotion is a little thin for the squeeze tube it comes in. A pump would have been better. The fragrance is kind of floral and powdery. I love the scent of most of Burt’s Bees lotions. This one is not my fave, but I don’t find it overpowering. And you may not notice the shimmer when you’re indoors, but will totally see it in the sun.
Now remember, you can put on all the shimmer lotion you want, but the best way to healthy, glowing skin on your face and body is to feed it well from the inside. I’ve written tons of posts on this…it’s pretty much what I’m all about. Here’s a recent one:
People always ask me…
So…can using Burt’s Bees Radiance Body Lotion help you feel happy, healthy and hot? Of course it can! I mean, who isn’t happy when they look shimmery and glowing? As far as healthy, the main ingredients are things like sunflower seed oil, coconut oil, and royal jelly, all of which are good for your skin. And shimmery, glowing summer skin is always hot!
