Not to be confused with “Beauty and a Beat,” one of my favorite Justin Bieber songs of all time. Just watched the video. He is adorable. But about the beach…
Many of us are headed to the beach at some point this summer…what should we pack so we can have a happy, healthy and hot trip?
There is so much to talk about and so many fun products out there…this post is going to focus on the cosmetic side of things.
But first, how adorable is my new beach towel?!
Can’t wait to actually use it on the beach! It’s from Sand Cloud, a new company that makes super stylish beach towels and accessories, and 10% of their profits go to help save endangered marine life, which is cool. The towel is a much lighter weight than a traditional beach towel so it dries very quickly. It even has a little zippered pocket for your phone and some cash. And you can get 25% off by using my code “ElizabethR25”.
Since we’re talking beach, we need to talk sunscreen. If you’ve been following me you know I love Raw Elements. Their sunscreens are made from the purest ingredients and they are reef safe which is hard to find. They are reasonably priced to begin with and you can get an extra 10% off by using the code “happyhealthyandhot.” Here’s a whole post I wrote:
My top is down…
A wonderful sunscreen for your face is Sun Love by Annmarie Gianni. Like Raw Elements, they use zinc oxide, which provides a physical block from UVA and UVB rays. I have worn Sun Love under makeup and it doesn’t feel heavy. It may seem pricey but like all of Annmarie Gianni’s products, a little goes a long way!
My nails have never been stronger, thanks to Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides. They look nice natural, but I always end up getting bored. I’m using Jamberry Nail Wraps when I go to the beach so I don’t have to worry about chipping. So many cute styles to chose from!
Something else I am bringing, in a cute little travel size, is John Masters Organics Sea Mist. I am working on a post on hair care products. One company I have had some success with is John Masters Organics. Their Sea Mist is made from water, sea salt and lavender oil. That’s it! It makes nice beachy waves if you spray it on and scrunch, and I often use it as a light hold hairspray. Love how pure this is, but can be drying if you use it every day.
I always slip a jar of coconut oil in my toiletries bag. I will use this to wash my face at night, and to moisturize after I get out of the shower. The perfect multi-tasking product!
Don’t forget sunglasses. I used to skip them, but found myself squinting. Love my Ray-Ban aviators…great protection, lightweight, and I think I look pretty cute in them!
So can packing right for the beach make you feel happy, healthy and hot? Well, my new Sand Cloud towel makes me happy just looking at it! Everything that I’ve mentioned in this post is a less toxic alternative to traditional beauty products, so they are good for your health. And with your cute nails, beachy waves, and glowing skin from the coconut oil, you will be hot indeed!
What’s in your beach bag?
