The coconut controversy…

I will continue to buy giant tubs of coconut oil to use in the kitchen and rub all over my body.

is not worth losing any sleep over, that’s for sure.

In case you missed it, USA Today recently published an article titled “Coconut oil isn’t healthy.  It’s never been healthy.”

According to the article, coconut oil is bad because it contains saturated fat, which the American Heart Associate claims will give you heart disease.  This is the same association that pushes margarine over butter and says that sugary cereals are “heart healthy.”  Seriously, AHA, wtf?

Personally, I think this whole thing is a load of crap.  And I will continue to buy coconut oil in giant containers on a regular basis.  Because not only do I use it in the kitchen, it is an awesome moisturizer…love slathering it all over myself when I get out of the shower. Continue reading

My pick for song of the summer…

is “I’m the One,” by DJ Khaled, Justin Bieber, Quavo, Chance the Rapper and Lil Wayne.  I might have left a rapper out.  Love blasting this with the top down driving to the pool!

A few other faves:  “Something Just Like This” by The Chainsmokers.  That one gives me the chills…love it!  Also into “Attention” by Charlie Puth and “Strip That Down” by Liam Payne and Quavo.  Which I mentioned in my last post, but it bears repeating if you haven’t listened yet!

So here’s that coffee I’ve been raving about…

OK, I know I talk about coffee all the time.  Because I talk about stuff I love.  Coffee is on the list.  So is my car.  And “Strip That Down” by Liam Payne and Quavo.  

For years now, I have blended some healthy fat and collagen into my coffee every morning, and encouraged you to do the same.  I’ve seen huge improvements in my skin and overall energy levels since I started doing it.  And I want you to feel amazing too!

When I got back from Paleo f(x) in Austin, TX (which was pretty much the best thing ever for a health nut like me) I made a few tweaks to my original coffee recipe.  And I feel even better!  Didn’t think that was possible.

So of course I have to share it.  Here’s what I’ve been adding:

Here is the perfect summer lunch…

You’re welcome!

Seriously, this is soooo good.  Loaded with healthy fats, antioxidants and collagen for gorgeous glowing skin.  It’s low in carbs and fits in great with a primal, paleo and even keto eating plan.  Sub veggie broth for the bone broth and it’s vegan.  Makes everyone happy.

Oh, and it takes like two minutes to make.  Which leaves more time for fun.  Like sitting by the pool in that cute bikini listening to music.  Or whatever else you’re into.

I’m talking about the summer soup that I just made.  And had to share because it’s that crazy good.

Ass and abs recap

At the end of April, I had a mini panic when I realized how close we were to swimsuit season.

I spent the long, dreary Central PA winter covered up in thermals and leggings, and didn’t feel quite ready to bare it all.

So in a sudden burst of inspiration, I decided that May would be #assandabsmonth, which I very publicly declared on Instagram, promising to do something, no matter how small, every single day.

And I’m so glad I did!

Because I definitely noticed a difference after a month.  Abs more so than ass if we’re completely honest here. And I loved the camaraderie of knowing that my friends were doing it along with me.

May is over, but summer is just beginning.
