Want to “C” better skin?

Use vitamin C inside and out!

According to the Linus Pauling Institute “the antioxidant properties of vitamin C and its role in collagen synthesis make vitamin C a vital molecule for skin health.  Dietary and topical vitamin C have beneficial effects on skin cells, and some studies have shown that vitamin C may help prevent and treat UV-induced photo damage.”

Or to put it in my words, vitamin C can help you feel happy, healthy and hot because it gives you firmer, brighter skin.

Vitamin C can even help undo the damage from the days you spent sunbathing on a reflective blanket slathered in baby oil back in the ’80s.  While listening to Madonna and Duran Duran on your giant Sony Walkman.

Didn’t make it to Starbucks for the Unicorn drink?

That’s good.

Because I’ve got something better.  It’s still pretty and unicorny (I realize that’s not a word) but it’s not loaded with sugar and ingredients you can’t pronounce.

Here’s the thing…I’m all about being fun and festive, but I want to look and feel good too.

And a drink with 75 grams of sugar isn’t doing any of us any favors.

BLT egg salad…

is pretty much the best lunch ever.

Not sure what is going on with the strappy neckline of my tee…but the egg salad is delicious!

It covers all the bases…it’s made from high quality protein, healthy fat and antioxidant rich veggies.  It is paleo, primal, low carb, and even Whole30 approved if you use bacon without sugar.  It looks pretty and tastes even better.  I’m hooked.

Cold brew, part two

Do you cold brew?

I do!

It’s no secret that I ❤️  coffee, and I’m always looking for new ways to enjoy it.  Last year I wrote a post on my love for the cold brew coffee that is popping up everywhere.  Here it is:

It’s finally nice enough to enjoy my cold brew outside.  And I don’t really understand this shirt.

Cold brew coffee is just that…coffee that is brewed without heat.  Coffee grounds are mixed with cold water and allowed to sit in the fridge for up to 24 hours, then filtered.

Sometimes puffy is good…

Like puffy white clouds in a blue sky.  While you are sitting poolside.  Looking hot in your black bikini.

Or cute puffy coat on a cold day…preferably with fur trim around the hood.

But puffy eyes?  Not a good look.  Ever.

Thankfully this is less of a problem for me since I discovered these three steps to say goodbye to those puffy eyes!
