and here’s what I ate. Why am I telling you? Because I get questions from friends asking what I eat on a day to day basis. So I’m going to tell you about a typical day. If you are trying to eat gluten-free, grain-free, dairy-free, Paleo, or just clean, maybe you’ll get some ideas.
As usual, I started the day with coffee. If you’ve been following this blog you know I use my Vitamix to blend some crazy stuff into my coffee in the am….coconut oil and ghee for healthy fats and fat soluble vitamins, and collagen because it has incredible skin boosting qualities. This morning I added a dash of turmeric for good measure…a potent anti-inflammatory. Oh, and the coffee is always half-caf so I don’t bounce off the walls.
The coffee typically holds me for a few hours. Since I knew I’d be out of the house most of the day, Continue reading →
because I don’t want to stink! So I was a little hesitant to try the garlic flavored ghee from Simply Ghee. I had no fear of the Sriracha…I love a little heat!
You may remember back in February I had a great time talking to the Ghee Gals, Nancy and Bev, about Simply Ghee, their locally produced, grass fed ghee. Ghee is butter that has been clarified, so that the dairy proteins are removed. Many people that don’t tolerate dairy have no problem at all with ghee. Not only is ghee full of healthy fats and fat soluble vitamins, it tastes amazing! In case you missed it, here’s the post: O M Ghee!!!!!!!
Since that post, I’ve had a chance to try their two new flavors, sriracha and black garlic.
I’m not kidding! There are some days when I practically live out of my car, and I know I’m not alone. Why not make your car time happy, healthy and hot? The tips I’m sharing today are really intended for your daily running around, but they are great for travel too.
As far as happy, you know music makes me happy! Right now I am loving “Pillowtalk” by Zayn. Seriously, how hot is that song??!! Listen to the lyrics…I can’t get enough! Also “Youth” by Troye Sivan. And “Cake by the Ocean” by DNCE. Lots of fun new music out right now.
I’ve had fun testing out sunscreen, mascara and lipstick. But being happy, healthy and hot really starts on the inside, and I believe what you eat can make a big difference.
Whether you are vegan, or paleo, or somewhere in between, everyone agrees we could use more vegetables in our lives. I’m always looking for ways to do that, and here’s what I’ve been really into lately…
how about a green smoothie on St. Patrick’s Day?! Or hey, go ahead and have both…it’s all about balance, right?
Remember, if you’re a green smoothie virgin, spinach is the way to go. It blends well in any type of blender (some of the tougher greens like kale really need a Vitamix) and it’s so mild you barely taste it.
